GenePaint – Web-based database of gene expression patterns
"GenePaint" was developed as a high-throughput instrument to carry out gene expression analyses by in situ hybridization in an automated fashion. A public database and database tools for the image data are developed. The new technology is basis of the Allen Institute for Brain Science, founded in Seattle. The first inaugural project is the complete mapping of the gene activities in the parental mouse brain.The Allen Brain Atlas will illustrate the functional anatomy of the brain.
