The scientists at the institute benefit from an exellent scientific infrastructure on the Max Planck Campus, including for example the Facilities for Transmission and Scanning Electron Microscopy, Mass Spectrometry, or Crystallization. Support comprises best analytical and measurement methods and help with sample preparation, data acquisition, as well as data analysis. In addition, the EU Liaison Office provides advice on the writing of funding proposals and contract negotiations. Furthermore, service facilities such as the workshops and the Management Facility, the Otto Hahn library, the IT & Electronics Service and the MediaService provides support for all institute members for the organization of day-to-day life. Since 2005, the institute offers childcare directly on the campus. Some 30 children between one and four years of age are professionally cared for – all day long.
