Ph. D. Student Position (m/f)
“Computational Immunology and Proteomics”
(Code Number 44-17)
The aim of this project is to study the dynamics of processing and presentation of proteasome generated spliced peptides during antigen presentation. The candidate will work closely with experimentalists and analyse experimental data, ranging from in vitro to in vivo experiments, with the aim to quantitatively describe the antigen presentation pathway. To do so, the candidate will develop and employ new bioinformatics and proteomics approaches, as well as methods for dynamical modelling and model calibration.
Ph. D. candidates will have a strong background in either Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computing, Mathematics, Physics and hold a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in any of these or a related field.
Our group recently discovered the unexpectedly high frequency of proteasome-catalysed spliced peptides occurring during antigen presentation. Together with the team members, the candidate will work on this exciting new aspect using cutting-edge technology and will be integrated in a stimulating and interdisciplinary research group.
We offer a 3-year contract. The payment and benefits are based on the TVöD guidelines.
