We are interested in the connection between the cell cycle and embryonic development, and study genes and proteins involved in the regulation of both processes. We want to elucidate their function in embryonic pattern formation and early organogenesis in relation to mechanisms of cell division. For our projects we generate mouse models and also analyze isolated processes in tissue culture. Focusses of our research are differentiation and proliferation of stem cells, as well as the generation and control of germ cells in the early embryo.
