Arndt-Jovin (Group head)
Chromatin structure and function in vivo

Research Interests

(a) the study of nuclear architecture using immunochemistry, in situ hybridization, and 3-D image microscopy (b) the role of DNA conformation in gene expression and development of Dipteran embryos with focus on polycomb group proteins and chromatin modulating enzymes. Signal transduction processes: cellsurface antigen-receptor proximities and mobilities focused on the erb B receptor family in living tissue culture cells. DNA stsructure and function. Biological roles of unusual helical DNA structures. Development of new fluorescence imaging modalities for rapid, in vivo cell and organism imaging.
