Jobs

The research group “Structural Dynamics of (Bio)Chemical Systems” at the Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry, Göttingen, is looking for Ph.D. Students to work on the following topics:

  • investigation of real time dynamics of protein systems with synchrotron radiation
  • simulation of X-ray scattering experiments of biomolecules in solution
  • construction and application of liquid micro-jet systems for coupling to hard X-ray sources
  • design and application of microfluidic systems for sample delivery in X-ray scattering and emission experiments

You can expect a very good working climate in a dynamic and cooperative group, which cultivates an active information exchange and supports innovative ideas. Ideas can be implemented fast and your scientific qualification (dissertation) is supported. Prerequisite for employment is a diploma or master’s degree in a natural science subject preferably in chemistry or physics. We expect fast comprehension skills, the ability to work scientifically and independently, creativity, flexibility, good English skills and joy in challenging experimental work. Knowledge in HPLC methods, microfluidics, synchrotron experience and programming skills are beneficial. Please send your application, including CV and a summary of your scientific work via e-mail and the subject “StructPhD”.
