Katarina received her B.Sc. in Molecular Biology from Faculty of Sciences, University of Novi Sad, Serbia in 2015. She was subsequently awarded  a German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) scholarship to continue her studies at the MSc/PhD International Max Planck Research School (IMPRS) for Molecular Biology in Göttingen. Katarina first joined the Schuh lab for a rotation project, and thereafter continued with her M.Sc. and PhD thesis. Currently, Katarina is working on elucidating mechanisms that protect human eggs against aneuploidy. In parallel, she is also working on deciphering molecular mechanisms behind maternal age effect in mammalian oocytes.
