Ninadini completed her undergraduate studies in India at Miranda House, University of Delhi for which she was awarded the President’s Gold Medal. She also holds a Diploma in Biology from Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, Bangalore. Thereafter, she moved to Göttingen to pursue MSc/PhD at the International Max Planck Research School (IMPRS)  in Molecular Biology in Göttingen. Nina finished her Masters thesis in the Schuh lab on the effects of age-related decline of cohesin on mammalian meiosis. After her Masters thesis, she was awarded a Stefan Hell Fellowship to continue her work in the Schuh lab for two months. She then went to Prof. Kim Nasmyth’s lab in University of Oxford for a funded summer internship. There, she explored DNA entrapment by cohesin from a more biophysical perspective. Her passion for meiosis and microscopy brought her back to Göttingen to embark on her PhD in the Schuh lab with a fellowship from Boehringer Ingelheim Fonds. She is currently investigating the mechanisms underlying the age-related decline in female fertility.
