Stellenangebot vom 4. September 2020

The department of Tissue Dynamics and Regeneration (Dr. Jochen Rink) at the Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry invites applications for a

Student Research Assistant (f/m/d)

We need help caring for our model animals, planarian flatworms. Planarians are fascinating animals that can regenerate from tiny pieces, harbor adult pluripotent stem cells, scale their bodies over a wide size range and, as a taxonomic group, display a fascinating spectrum of regenerative abilities, body sizes, reproductive strategies or life expectancies from a few months to seeming immortality.

The student job entails feeding and cleaning of animal cultures. The time requirement is approximately 10 h/week, e.g. two days of 5 h. The additional involvement in research projects is possible on a voluntary basis.

Candidates need to be enrolled in Bachelor or Master studies at the Göttingen University in the field of life sciences. Experience in life science laboratory work is recommended but not mandatory. A very good command of English both oral and written is a prerequisite. Further, we require dedication, reliability and good note keeping.

The position is to be filled as soon as possible. Payment will be € 12,52 per hour for students with a bachelor degree and € 10,77 per hour without a bachelor degree. Students at any stage of education are encouraged to apply.

The Max Planck Society is committed to increasing the number of individuals with disabilities in its workforce and therefore encourages applications from such qualified individuals.

Interested students should submit an application that includes a CV and the graduation diploma (if applicable) as well as a copy of the matriculation certificate preferably as one single PDF file via e-mail with reference “student assistant” to office.rink@mpibpc.mpg.de.
