Growing up in India, I was always surrounded by an abundant diversity of plants and animals, even in urban areas, and I have been drawn to them for as long as I can remember. This naturally led me to study biology for my under and postgraduate studies. For my PhD, I joined the lab of Thomas Lecuit at the IBDM in Marseille where I developed a new project in his lab to study the mechanisms underlying neuronal branching in developing Drosophila embryos. Here is where I found my love for developmental biology, which motivated me to apply to the Rink lab. Here, I will study how planarian body size and metabolism are regulated.
