Molecular mechanisms of translation in yeast

We are looking for a highly motivated postdoc who wants apply state-of-the-art biophysical methods to reveal the mechanisms of translation in yeast (our latest publication in this field: PMID 33555093). The successful candidate will benefit from our broad method spectrum, an established in-vitro translation system and a multidisciplinary, international team.

Your profile

  • You have an excellent PhD or equivalent degree in biochemistry, biology or related fields
  • strong background in protein and RNA biochemistry and molecular biology
  • keen interest in the ribosome and biophysical and kinetic methods
  • independent thinking, structured work organization and a good team spirit

The Postdoc position is limited to two years with a possibility of extension. Payment and benefits are based on the TVöD guidelines. The starting date is flexible.

The group language is English, so no German language skills are required – but it’s a great opportunity for you to learn German!
