Bayesian Methods in Structural Biology and Biophysics

We are broadly interested in developing computational methods for statistical inference and scientific data analysis with applications in structural biology and biophysics. Our focus is mainly on the development of a statistical approach to biomolecular structure determination called Inferential Structure Determination (ISD). ISD uses Markov chain Monte Carlo simulation to calculate macromolecular structures from NMR, cryo-EM and other structural data. We also maintain a keen interest in developing new methods for cryo-EM data analysis and image processing. We are currently developing tools to model large and dynamic biological systems (protein complexes, chromosomes) and work on new algorithms for general Bayesian computation.
